The Cocktails Story
The Whiskey Sour’s history is steeped in tradition, with its first recorded mention in the 1862 classic *The Bartender’s Guide: How To Mix Drinks.* However, its roots go back even further, inspired by sailors who mixed spirits with citrus to stay healthy at sea. The modern version is often credited to Englishman Elliott Stubb, who found himself in Iquique (then part of Peru). There, he combined local limon de pica with whiskey and sugar, creating a timeless cocktail that’s still celebrated today.
